The boiler is often installed where night-time electricity is used. This means an additional or separate phase wire to the boiler, which allows the boiler to be activated from the meter cupboard, thanks to features like a timer or smart meter. The boiler requires a continuous phase, which enables the accelerated heating to be activated when the night-time electricity phase has no voltage.
